Solar Water Heaters - The Real Future of Water Heaters
This is the right time when it is
require switching from dwindling non-renewable sources of energy such as
natural gas, to a different way of using water heaters. However for now, solar heating systems are gaining more
and more popularity in comparison to traditional kinds of water heaters. It is
because of their ease to use on any climate and their source as sun; solar
heating systems are a valuable
commodity.

Solar water heaters India consists of solar collectors and
storage tanks. There are two types of solar
water heaters in India basically: Active
and Passive systems.
- Active Systems: They have circulating pumps. They are further divided as direct
and indirect systems. Direct systems are for the rarely freezy climate
while the indirect systems are meant for areas prone to freezing environment.
- Passive Systems: They do not have any circulating pumps. They are less expensive
and they last longer, less maintenance is needed for them as compared to active
systems. However they are less efficient than active systems.
Solar water heating systems always have energy backup for
the case when there is less solar activity and the demand is high. This is just
to ensure that in the cloudy days also, your water heater works well. Before
buying any solar water heater in India,
it is required to consider all the factors such as reliability, climate
conditions, budget and demands.

Before purchasing solar heating systems, always consider
the source of energy and geographic location. If the sun’s energy is regular
for the day then only invest in solar water heater. Also take into
consideration how much hot water is required before investing any water heater.
After
concluding on which solar heating
systems to install, then count on some other considerations such as price
and feature of the solar heating system.
To ensure that the water heating system works properly, always ask your solar
contractor for the maintenance plans and features.
So if the solar water heaters in India is carefully and properly chosen,
installed and taken care of will help reducing the heating bills by 60-80%.

The Rising Market of Solar Power Systems in India
After three
years of constant growth, India is looking now for the significant change in
the use of clean technologies to run many industries.
As different solar programs are announced in the market with great efforts, Solar Home Power Systems are gaining popularity. According to Mercom Capital Group, Solar installations in India reach about 800 MW, which is less in comparison to that of 1004 MW in 2013.
In the year
2015, it is expected that major portion of the commission is going to come from
700 MW Batch I Phase II project.
The
impending solar lighting system in
India is not limited to big scale projects, but they are also directed towards
small-scale solutions like solar lanterns and community level power plants.
The Solar Home Power System is believed to
rise by 60% yearly; therefore it will reach the market size of about $250
million in the upcoming years. The number of solar home power systems will double by 7.2 million in the coming
years.
Recently a
draft for Batch 2 is released, launching about 300 MW of PV projects by
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Along with this, they are also
planning to release 200 MW of PV projects that are grid connected under Batch 3
of NSM Phase II.
On the solar
side, Solar Lighting System in India
is expected to rise by 103 GW from 2016 to 2025. This is going to be achieved
for sure because of the growing need of country. Due to the growing need, many
new technologies are coming in the way like supercritical technology.
Till 2014,
coal was the leading source of power generation in India with about 160 GW. It
was about 59% of the installed capacity; however it is expected to double
almost by 2025. Therefore, it is in great need to switch to the clean green
source of energy.

5 Ways to Improve Homemade Solar Water Heating Systems Efficiency
Solar water
heating systems are the cost effective equipment to heat water. In solar water
heating system collectors capture heat from the sun and used to heat up the
water stored in the tank. There are various benefits of solar water heater and
one can easily enhance the performance of solar heater by following these
simple tips. Let me explain some important benefits of solar water heater.
- Heating water from the sunlight costs you less and when you invest your money one time it will give you more values for life time. After investing one time on a solar heating system your water heating cost will be zero.
- Another important benefit of solar water heating system is that it never gives you shock like other electrical equipments.
- Solar water heaters are totally smoke free so you will never feel any dirty smell.
- The most important benefit of solar water heating system is that it will help you to reduce carbon dioxide produced by your household and help you to fight against global warming.
The list is not ending here; you can take much more
advantages by improving efficiency of solar water heating system.
- Size of Storage Tank Matters
The size of the storage tank is always matters in case of
solar water heating, because a large sized storage tank keeps water hot for a long
time. The homemade solar heating tanks are less expensive with comparison of
commercial one. Another advantage of a big storage tank is that one can reserve
hot water for cloudy days and use it anytime.
- Solar Collector’s Surface Area
The bigger surface area of solar collector’s helps to heat
more water at a time. The homemade
solar water heater builder has an extra advantage over the commercial solar water heater, because one can
increase the size of homemade solar water collector anytime with small
investment.
One can define the size of surface area of the solar water heater
collector by three ways and increase the efficiency of solar heating system.
·
Gross
Area
·
Aperture
Area
·
Absorber
Area
- Materials Used in Collector
Homemade solar water heating collector uses copper tubes
mated to aluminum fins and obtain the best performance in lower cost. The price
of homemade solar heater collector’s tubing fins is 1/6th of the
price of commercial one and only loss approximately 15% in performance.
- Insulation on Tanks and Piping is Important
It’s very important to insulate properly because, well
insulated tanks increase the possibility to remain water hot for a long time in
cloudy season. So when it comes to homemade solar water heating system, it’s
important to insulate tanks and piping to enhance the performance.
- Site Obstructions
It is very important to set up homemade solar heating system,
where as much exposure to the sun as possible. So when you locate your solar
water heating system, then choose the area where fewer obstructions such as
trees are occurring.
By the following these simple tips you can easily enhance the
performance of your homemade solar water heating system.

A Well Accepted Water Heating Technology
Solar hot water heating systems are a great way to
effectively conserve energy and reduce the overall electricity bill. It can
also cut down on your gas, wood or coal bills depending on your current water
heating system. Solar water heating systems have been used commercially for
over a century now. Solar water heating
can be used in any climate. Sound unbelievable? Check it out on the U.S.
Department of Energy website. They say so too. Moreover, the fuel used to run a
solar water heater is sunshine. And, at the time of writing this article,
sunshine is free - no tax has been added yet. A solar hot water heater can
reduce your water heating bill by more than sixty percent. But with energy prices
going up, the amount of savings will soon turn to be even higher. So using a
solar water heater will help save fossil fuels. Solar water heating will
significantly reduce your carbon footprint, and reduce the demand for fossil
fuels which pollute the environment.
A company from Jaipur provides such systems that are easy to
maintain, rather maintenance free and long life too. There heaters are made
using the thermosyphon effect. Based on the evacuated tube water heating
technology, systems by SolarMaxx Solar WaterHeating are brought to you by the illusions4real group. Rajasthan which
seems more that 300 sunny days in a year also haappens to get very cold in
winter months. People generally require hot water for over 6 months in a year.
The state is also a popular tourist spot, and cities like Jodhpur, Udaipur,
Jaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Sikar, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Pushkar etc
have many hotels. Hotels need a lot of hot water and the government have made the
use of solar water heaters compulsory for all hotels in the state having any
more than 20 rooms. Recently some popular hotels have chosen SolarMaxx as their
service provider, such as Park Prime by Dangayach group in jaipur, Rang niwas
in hotels, Shiv Vilas in Jaipur are few amongst the list. Solar Maxx is also a
known brand in the budget hotel segment, not only is it for hotels but also
hospitals and home owners. Domestic users benefit a lot by the use of solar
water heaters as they are extremly safe and there are no hassles of high bills,
accidents caused due to water heating rods and so on.
It shouldn't take long now to make a decision and go green
for you, save energy, save money, go solar with SolarMaxx.
